Hirsute is a death doom project based in New Zealand and is the work of a single musician, Justin Chorley. Drawing heavy influence from the earlier works of Opeth, Anathema, Katatonia and My Dying Bride, Hirsute is brooding and emotional with a sound grounded in evocative harmonies, punctuated with heavy rhythms and a mixture of growls and soft vocals.
